Boy Scouts at Elections Headquarters

"I’m definitely going to vote!"

Cub Scout Troop Pack No. 375 from St Francis of Assisi in Burien visited King County Elections Headquarters in Renton today to learn more about the elections process for their citizenship badges.

The scouts said they ”learned about how secure elections are and saw how fast ballots get scanned.”

Another scout added “I’m going to tell my parents not to spill anything on their ballot or write all over it.”

Get your own citizenship badge, elections stickers, by touring the facility. The King County Elections office offers a wonderful viewing loop for the public to take a self-guided tour (PDF) without an appointment to observe the election process in action. The viewing loop is open during business hours: week days 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended hours on Election Days. For more information call 206-296-VOTE (8683).

Also, remember it’s the last day to vote. Ballots for the 2011 Primary Election should be postmarked today or placed in one of eleven ballot drop boxes before 8 p.m. tonight.
